Summer launch for Brunel FM

The new commercial radio station for Swindon is one step closer to a launch in the Summer after securing a studio site at the Lime Kiln Studios, Lime Kiln, Wootton Bassett.

It is exactly 200 years since the birth of Isambard Kingdom Brunel was born, and Brunel FM aim to help the area celebrate the occasion when they launch later this year. Brunel FM is owned by TLRC and won the licence in September 2005 after stiff competition from three other groups.

Martin Mumford Brunel FM?s Station Manager is pleased to have secured the site, ?This is one of just a handful of purpose built radio studios in the United Kingdom and I?m delighted that Brunel FM can now breathe new life into these studios which were vacated last year and so well known both locally and throughout the radio industry. We are now embarking on refurbishment work so the site will look as good as new ready for our launch?.

Brunel FM will be announcing their allocated FM broadcast frequency and official launch date soon and plan to play a major role in promoting events taking place throughout Swindon during the Summer to celebrate the 200 anniversary of Brunel?s birth.
