Virgin Radio at the Motor Show

If you go down to the Motor Show this year, you’re in for a Virgin suprise. As this summer sees Virgin Radio and The British International Motor Show in a co-promotion which will give on-air exposure to the event.

The highlight of the promotion will be a series of competitions running on the weekend of 22nd July where lucky listeners can win the life of celebrity for a weekend. From a rock star experience including a recording session to a ?James Bond? experience with a speed boat and helicopter trip, each one includes the best accommodation and being chauffer driven in some of the world?s most prestigious cars.

The co-promotion sees Virgin Radio feature in the extensive advertising and marketing campaign for the high-profile show. The station is also sponsoring the Adventure Island part of the show – where professional drivers take those brave enough on a thrilling off-road course ? so that the Virgin Radio brand is associated with one of the most exciting elements of the show.

?We?ve developed such a great show that we want as many people as possible to come and see what a modern motor show is all about,? said Kirsty Adams, Marketing Director, The British International Motor Show. ?The co-promotion and on-air competition with Virgin Radio helps us reach out to a national audience in an impactful and creative way that will really generate interest in the show. We?re really excited about tying up with Virgin Radio as it?s an exciting brand with such a wide national appeal.?

?Virgin Radio is hugely popular among families as well as car-fanatics,? said Nick Hewat, Sales Director at Virgin Radio. ?Both of these audiences will be keen to hear more about this great motor show, especially when the creative on-air promotion gives them the chance to live the life of James Bond, the Royal Family or a rock star in a luxury chauffeur-driven weekend.?

On-air and online promotion will run from 19th June until 29th July. The competition promotion will be on-air on the 22nd and 23rd July with additional pre-promotion the week prior. The British International Motor Show will be at ExCeL London from 20th July until 30th July.
