The Sun reports that Richard Bacon, the new XFM drivetime presenter, was beaten-up on Monday evening at Leicester Square’s Garrick Pub while enjoying a first show celebratory drink.
The former Blue Peter presenter was followed into the pub’s toilets by two men who broke Bacon’s nose in a ferocious attack. The men quickly ran-off after the incident.
The presenter told the paper: “The strangest thing of all was that, although I was kicked repeatedly in the face and body, it didn?t hurt. I think adrenalin must have kicked in.”
The police are still trying to track down the men, but Richard sees the more lighthearted side of the incident: “It?s a serious matter but it?s given me some good material. Each one of the those punches was worth about 20 minutes of airtime.”
Bacon was well enough to presenter Tuesday’s drivetime show, despite the injuries.
