Pure 107.8 ready for launch

A brand new radio station launches in Stockport. Pure 107.8FM hits the airwaves on Wednesday 13th September at 8am with an amazing tribute to the borough. The station will be broadcasting great music, local news and just about everything that?s going on in Stockport all day everyday.

One lucky listener will join Breakfast Show presenter Dave Stearn in the studio through a competition with a local newspaper to officially launch the station and press the button to put Pure 107.8FM on-air.

Pure 107.8FM is one of 7 stations in the North West to receive a full-time community radio licence. The station will broadcast a wide range of programmes for groups within the community including older people, women, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender shows. Pure 107.8FM also plays a great variety of music including unsigned acts. The station is helped by over 50 volunteers who help present many of the shows aired.

Over one hundred staff from the radio station?s parent company Pure Innovations will also get into the spirit of the day by taking to the streets to help promote the launch. Some are even showing their support and musical taste by dressing up as their favourite rock stars.
