Former TFM presenter Les Gunn is returning to radio in the Northeast, to host a weekly phone-in show on TLRC stations Durham FM, Alpha FM and Sun FM. ''Gunnys Talk of the North'' starts on January 7th.
Les, who is north east born and bred, spent six years as a Presenter with Stockton based TFM Radio in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s and also hosted the Phone In there, before moving into Management and continuing his radio career with stations in Yorkshire, including Stray FM in Harrogate, using the on air nickname of “Gunny.” He now has his own Radio consultancy and voiceover business and also works outside the Media full time.
Commenting on the move, Les Gunn said “I am delighted to be bringing my own brand of entertainment and infotainment to these three great radio stations and I hope that we captivate and capture the hearts of North East people, with edgy and thought provoking radio that will keep people listening and really reflect life today.”
Peter Grant, Station Manager of Durham FM, where the show is based, said “I’m thrilled that Gunny is returning to radio in the North East — it’s been a long time coming and I’m sure he will take the Talk Of The North to a new dimension, from where previous host Adrian Allen left off. He’s one of the most talented broadcasters in the North and I know he’ll be gaining listeners from the word go!”
