Big deal for Capital 95.8

GCap Media's flagship London radio station, Capital 95.8, has announced details of a six-figure sponsorship deal with computer processing chip firm Intel to promote live new music. The partnership will see Capital supporting upcoming bands and artists, giving one new act the chance to play a high profile London gig.

The on-air campaign's launched today and promotes Intel's new Core 2 Duo Processor. Bands and artists can upload audio or video auditions, and then Capital 95.8 listeners will get the chance to vote on-line for their favourite.

The winer will be picked by a panel of industry experts from a final four – the winner will perform live on stage as the warm-up for the headline performance.

Universal McCann's Sarah Doughty on behalf of the client said: "Entertainment is a key part of Intel's communication for their new Core 2 Duo processor. Building people's passion for live music was a perfect fit for Intel in its continuing drive to multiply people's entertainment."

GCap interactive account manager Tim Ferris was one of those who did the Intel deal and told us: "This is the most exciting and user driven activity I have seen. The buzz around this campaign is off the scale."
