New music boss for Signal

Dave Sherwood's re-joining UTV Radio in the newly-created role of Head of Music at Signal Radio in Stoke. Most recently Dave was presenting at weekends and on the Drivetime show at Century FM in the North East, and prior to that worked for UTV's Bradford station, The Pulse.

Dave's no stranger to being in charge of playlists and scheduling either, having been Head of Music at The Pulse – and also with the Tindle Radio Group. He's also worked as a presenter for 100.7 Heart FM in the West Midlands and Oldham's The Revolution, and you might remember his alter-ego – Dan the Hitman – on Atlantic 252.

Dave told RadioToday.co.uk: "I am thrilled to be part of UTV Radio and I’m excited about my new and challenging role at Signal 1 and Signal 2."

Programme Controller Kevin Howard says, "I am delighted that Dave has joined the team here at Signal where he will play a pivotal role in driving the station forward. This newly created position is a reflection of the considerable investment Signal and UTV Radio have made over the past 12 months in audience research and music testing."
