Magic 105.4 winner disqualified

Look at what you could have won – that's the message to the winner of the Magic Mystery Voices Competition on Magic 105.4 in London. The winner failed to provide enough details to satisfy station bosses that they qualified to win £168,000, despite identifying the mystery voice.

The total prize fund of £168,000 was won on-air in March, but after asking the winner to provide proof of identity and to undertake a voice recognition test, station bosses concluded that there was a serious breach of the competition rules, resulting in the judges' final decision to disqualify the winner.

Managing Director Andria Vidler issued a statement on the Magic website, saying: "Magic strives to ensure fairness and honesty in all of our competitions, and it is very unfortunate that on this occasion it appears that a listener has broken the rules, and misled our wider audience. After some deliberation we have decided that the fairest way to deal with the situation is to roll forward the full prize fund into the next Mystery Voices competition which returns in early autumn."
