Dominik swaps rock for talk

Dominik Diamond is joining UTV's talk107 to cover a number of programmes over the summer months, RadioToday.co.uk can reveal. He will co-host drivetime with regular presenter Heather Dee next week before moving to breakfast from 16th July. Dominik is leaving Xfm Scotland after being refused a pay-rise, according to reports.

In addition to Dominik joining talk107, Stephen Jardine, best known as STV’s main news and current affairs presenter, will also be a guest presenter on the station when he joins Karen Bremner on Breakfast from Monday 9th July.

Peter Gillespie, talk107, station director told us: “The holiday period always provides the opportunity to try out some new names and we are delighted that Dominik and Stephen will be joining the station while our regular presenter’s are holidaying at Burntisland. Both are proven talents and are known for expressing their opinions so it should make for an interesting few weeks. The addition of two established and well know broadcasters further shows our continuing investment in talented presenters as we know that’s what our growing audience want to hear.”

A report in the Sunday Herald on June 9th suggests Dominik asked for a pay rise after he was nominated for music personality of the year at the Sony Awards – but was refused by GCap Media bosses. He will be replaced on Xfm Scotland on July 4th by Julyan Sinclair.
