Tony Blackburn and his Classic Gold breakfast show teamed up with Sainsbury’s recently to promote Danish Bacon. The promotion ran across the Classic Gold network to highlight awareness of Sainsbury’s Danish Bacon and to encourage more readers to Sainsbury’s Magazine.
Called the ‘Danish Wakeup call’ listeners took part by registering via text, email or phone. They knew they had won when they got that early morning call at the door and found themselves live on air on the ‘Even Tastier Breakfast Show’ with Tony Blackburn.
The promotion was backed by an extensive on-air campaign across the Classic Gold network of 18 stations from the beginning of May, including their DAB stations too. It was also promoted in the May edition of Sainsbury’s Magazine as well as having competition details on over a million packs of Danish Bacon.
The promotion generated thousands of registrations and Tony Blackburn said "It’s great to take the show live into the homes of our listeners."
