Digital station FUN Radio is to broadcast special programmes over the summer months, including an on-air book club and the seasonal return of kids favourite Basil Brush®. Basil will also be available as a podcast after his weekly show.
Sam’s Summer Book Club – each Friday at 3pm – will focus on a different title each week, from July 27th to August 31st. Books will include Ivan the Terrible, The Shell Magicians and Alien Timebomb.
Meanwhile, Basil will air each Saturday in August with a Joke of the Week, Food of the Week, competitions, plus reports from Basil’s diary, delving into his thoughts about the digital world. He told us: "By huge and vociferous public demand, I am back to put the BOOM! BOOM! into FUN radio! I’ve been in training, getting ready for my radio comeback…A bit like Chris Evans, smaller but just as ginger!"
FUN radio is currently available on DAB digital radio multiplexes serving London, Essex, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Bristol, South East Wales, Kent, Sussex and Dorset, nationwide on SKY Digital 0112, Virgin Media in selected areas and online.
