New image for One Network

Gcap Media’s One Network is going through a re-brand both off and on-air. A new logo is gradually making its way across local radio stations, whilst a new jingle package created by Music4 in London is now on-air at a select few stations including Leicester Sound.

Music4 will create 35 versions of the jingle package in what is thought to be the biggest single jingle project in the UK, eclipsing Radio Investments order for over 20 stations from The Bespoke Music Company in 2001. Leicester Sound is one of 21 stations already to have taken delivery of the new package, which contains a breakfast show theme, five daytime imaging cuts plus new beds for news, sport & travel.

For some stations it is a return to sung jingles after over a decade of using sweepers. Len Groat wrote the last jingle package to air on Trent FM in 1994 but isn’t too happy with the new package: “'I was disappointed that they are so unadventurous, but any syndicated package designed to fit on 35 stations in so many diverse parts of Britain is inevitably a Jack of all trades and master of none!'

In addition, London production company Noise Fusion has supplied a custom package of production effects, sound design elements and beds. GCap imaging producer Adam Burgess: “We needed something to take the sound of the One Network to the next level… the sonic cuts had to be something special and Noise Fusion delivered exactly what we needed. This package is simply sublime."
