Do you remember Red Rose?

Red Rose Radio, operators of Rock FM and Magic 999 are asking the industry for help in celebrating their 25th birthday later this year. The Emap station aims to uncover some hidden gems and dig up some dirt on the past from previous presenters and staff.

The results will be collated and exhibited in the Museum of Lancashire across the road from the stations grounds, and a one-off special programme will be broadcast on Friday 5th October.

Marketing Manager, Nikki Murray told RadioToday.co.uk: "Both Rock FM and Magic 999 are heritage brands in Lancashire with a strong reputation. People feel a connection to the station and this is an opportunity for us to bring the best of the station back to the forefront of everyone’s minds."

Some great content and contacts are coming out of the wood work already but Nikki is urging those who have a history or an association with the station to still get in touch.

"There could never be too much. As someone who grew up listening to Red Rose Radio it’s bizarre to be speaking with some of the people I woke up to every morning. It’s really nice to be able to piece the history together from different perspectives."
