NAB joins Euro Radio Awards

The National Association of Broadcasters have joined forces with organisers of the European Radio Awards to offer their support for the first pan European event, aiming to recognise the best achievements in the radio industry around Europe.

Under the terms of the agreement NAB will be the official partner for the awards, which will be held 5th November at the 15th annual NAB European Radio Conference taking place in Barcelona.

Ian Carless, Managing Director of the European Radio Awards told RadioToday.co.uk: “We’re delighted with the partnership. NAB has a long and successful history in Europe. It makes perfect sense that the European Radio Awards should take place at Europe’s premier radio conference.”

There are 34 awards on offer spread across ten categories with a strong focus on individual and team entries, as well as awards for technology driven radio and Internet only radio stations.

“We’re very excited to be part of this new initiative. NAB has been at the forefront of change, leading the charge for broadcasters around the world. The European Radio Awards provide an excellent showcase of the best work by broadcasters across Europe’s diverse and dynamic radio markets. It is only fitting that NAB should be part of this.” Said Margaret T. Cassilly, Vice President, International Operations, NAB.

The European Radio Awards is open to all radio stations based within the European Union. Entires are now being taken on the awards [link=http://www.euradioawards.com]website[/link], with a closing date of October 12th 2007.
