Capital 95.8 has hired stand up comedian and TV presenter Greg Burns to present the daily 10am till 1pm slot from January. Greg will replace Sony Award winning radio presenter James Cannon who will be looking at other opportunities once his contract ends at the end of the year.
Programme Director Scott Muller commented: “Greg is a seasoned commercial radio professional with experience spanning numerous different genres of music and day parts. Not only that but he’s an entertainer too, a perfect combination for Capital which will appeal to our socially active 15-34 target audience.”
Greg is currently the overnight presenter on national Virgin Radio. The news of his appointment comes as former Virgin Radio chief executive Paul Jackson starts his new management position at Leicester Square.
Speaking about his new radio home Greg says: “Capital is the station which represents one of the world’s most exciting cities and as a Londoner who grew up listening I can’t wait to get into the studio and get started. It’s my new year’s resolution to ensure that Londoners get something they’ll enjoy from me.”
James Cannon says: “I’ve had a fantastic 10 years at Capital, but it’s time for me to move on and pass the mic to someone else. I wish Greg the best of luck.”
