Listeners dig for diamonds

Cork's 96 and 103fm is asking listeners to go digging for diamonds, as planted by the radio station in a promotion with a local jewellers. Also one listener has already won a diamond with €3,000 in the competition, named The Diamond Heist.

Grainne Ward was among almost 100 listeners who turned out at The Lough in Cork City to dig for the Diamond after clues were given on-air. In total, three diamonds worth €15,000 have been buried across the county. They are no more than 10centimetres below ground level and are not buried on private property.

Chief Executive of Cork’s 96 & 103fm, Kieran McGeary said “This novel radio promotion is like a treasure trail on the air. It’s a great way for our station to interact with listeners. There are two more diamonds buried and we will continue to give out clues on-air until they are found.”
