New drivetime host on Gaydar

GaydarRadio is celebrating six years on-air by making some changes, including the introduction of a new drivetime presenter.

Phil Marriott takes over the weekday drivetime show, whilst former CBBC and Diggit presenter Liam Dolan joins to front Gaydar Anthems live from Profile three evenings a week.
Phil started his radio career on Radio Victory and The Quay in Portsmouth and has since presented on Virgin Megastores Radio, London, Impulse Live in Newbury, and Win FM in Winchester, where he later became programme manager, relaunching the station as Dream 107.2 in October last year.
Liam started his TV career in 2001 when he entered and won BBC Talent and has since presented on Max TV and The Great Big British Quiz on Channel 5.
Station boss Robin Crowley said: “GaydarRadio has successfully brought diversity to digital broadcasting in the UK. We now turn six with our biggest audience figures ever, more live programming then ever and a totally refreshed station line up which reflects the fact that GaydarRadio continues to be the sound of Gay UK.
“At a time when digital radio is reported to be in the doldrums with some networks closing down, GaydarRadio will continue to do what it does best, serving and positively interacting with a section of the UK radio audience that embraces us as an innovative cross network entertainment destination.”
Other programme highlights coming up this spring include Gay and Lesbian History Month throughout February; our regular health and fitness campaign Six Weeks to Summer from March; and the annual Pride season, which kicks off in March with regular daily reports from Sydney Mardi Gras which is now in its 30th year.
The Freemasons will guest DJ at GaydarRadio’s exclusive birthday party which is on February 7 at the station’s Soho nightclub, Lo-Profile. Special guests due to attend the VIP invitation only event include Graham Norton and the Lib Dem mayoral candidate Brian Paddick.
