Industry heads to Glasgow

Hundreds of industry folk are heading to Scotland on Monday to join co-workers, friends and ex-colleagues for the three day highlight of the radio calendar – the Radio Festival 2008.

On Monday morning, Techcon and Foot in the Door will keep the early birds happy, and on Monday evening the GMG debate will be discussing one of the major issues affecting the industry at the moment – networking.
Jeremy Vine returns on Tuesday to host the events, which will range from a question and answer session with the Digital Radio Working Group, who suggested recently the year 2020 is when we should go digital, right through to Radio Fighting Talk with Colin Murray.
Fighting talk this year will re-united John Myers with Scottie McClue, along with Phil Riley and a TBC! Other highlights from Tuesday’s line-up includes Matthew Bannister discussing compliance, a bunch of programmers talking about the future of music radio, and what presenters really think about their radio managers.
On Wednesday morning we’ll be discussing podcasting, speech radio and showbiz news.
If you did not manage to secure a place at this year’s sold out event, you can always keep an eye on RadioToday’s live blog, which kicks off on Monday afternoon.
