Former Derby County star Gary Rowett is joining BBC Radio Derby as the new summariser for its coverage of Rams matches during the forthcoming 2008/2009 football season.
Gary, who still lives just outside Derby with his family, says of his appointment: "I'm really excited about commentating on the Rams' games this season. I've got some great memories from my time at the club and this is the next best thing to actually being out there on the pitch."
Gary Andrews, assistant editor, BBC Radio Derby, says: "This season promises to be action-packed and it's great news for us that Gary has agreed to join our sport team reporting on Derby County home and away.
