Rocker wins a year of beer

A listener to 106.1 Rock Radio in Manchester has won free beer for a year, brewed to his own individual recipe. The prize was part of a Father's Day promotion by the GMG station.

Nick Owen from Stockport was the lucky winner, and was drawn at random to say why he should win the prize and his down to earth no nonsense winning text got straight to the point; “I love beer – real beer, hand pulled, not the sweet gassy crap that "new men" drink. Give me pure beer like that brewed at 3 Rivers.”
His impassioned reason won him a tour of the 3 Rivers brewery and a date to taste, mix, and brew his very own beer. He will then go on to help design his very own personalised label before his brew is delivered to his door for him to drink every day for the next year for free.
Nick said: “I can’t believe I won! This is a fantastic prize and I’m really excited at being able to make my own beer! I can’t stand the gassy lager's and bottled gimmicky rubbish that’s out there. I love nothing better than a real pint, pulled in the old fashioned way. 3 Rivers always hits the mark for me.”
3 Rivers Brewery is the name behind Manchester IPA and Old Disreputable – its real ales are also stocked at the likes of Tesco, Waitrose, Asda and Threshers and both its bottles and award winning draught beers are on sale in all good pubs!
106.1 Rock Radio’s station director Joe Radcliffe told RadioToday.co.uk: This was a fun competition to have on air and the response was huge. There aren’t many men who can say they have their very own beer made to their specific menu by a brewing legend such as 3 Rivers. We know Nick will enjoy his prize responsibly.”
106.1 Rock Radio and 3 Rivers are keen to point out they encourage responsible drinking.
