Century poaches Radio City duo

GMG Radio has secured the talent of popular Radio City presenters Glen Hunt and Scott Hughes to front a new drive-time show at north-west regional station Century Radio.
The programme, each weekday from 4pm till 8pm, will replace the current football phone-in show The Legends from September 1st.

Glen is currently the afternoon host at Bauer's Radio City in Liverpool, and told RadioToday.co.uk he is looking forward to his new show: “There are very few double-header shows at that time of day so we’re both really looking forward to breaking the mould and offering listeners something a bit different.”
Scott, who has also worked at BRMB in Birmingham and Invicta in Kent, added: “Glen and I are chalk and cheese on paper but we’ve got exactly the same sense of humour, so the show should be a good giggle as well as a great new challenge for both of us.
“Generally, you’ll find that breakfast shows are geared towards cheering people up when they’re driving into work, so we want to make sure that those same people have a big smile on their face when they’re driving home as well.”
Andy Carter, managing director of Century Radio, said: “Having a double-header on-air at drive-time isn’t the norm in radio so we’re doing something a bit different to get the sort of listener interaction a breakfast show attracts. Glen and Scott are the perfect double act and are already well-known in Liverpool, so I’m sure they’ll be bringing some of their loyal listeners over to Century with them.”
