Donovan 'does a James Whale'

Singer turned GCap presenter Jason Donovan has attracted an Ofcom complaint for supporting Boris Johnson during one of his networked radio programmes.

During this live edition of the programme, Jason Donovan made the following comment in respect of the then forthcoming London Mayoral election:
“ It’s time for a change. It’s definitely time for a change. Boris Johnson. I have to say it. That’s my political message…”
Ofcom received a complaint from a listener who was listening to Invicta FM and objected to Jason Donovan’s comment.
GCap said his comment breached the Rules of the Code about impartiality, and apologised on-air after having 'discussions' with Jason, highlighting the seriousness of his actions.
Ofcom decided not to take any further action but did find the broadcaster in breach of Rule 6.1. His programme is broadcast on 37 radio stations owned by GCap.
Late night talkSPORT host James Whale was recently let go from his long running national radio programme in fear of a complaint about the comments he made in support of Boris Johnson.
