Four more community stations

Four more community radio groups are celebrating today after Ofcom awarded them a five year broadcast licence each. They are Hermitage FM, Cross Rhythms, The Hillz Radio and Inspiration FM.

Community radio services typically cover a small geographical area and are provided on a not-for-profit basis focusing on the delivery of specific social benefits to enrich a particular geographical community or a community of interest.
Hermitage FM will use radio to engage, inform, entertain and unite the community of Coalville, Ibstock and Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Cross Rhythms Coventry will serve the Christian population resident within Coventry, The Hillz FM will serve the culturally diverse population within the Hillfields district of Coventry and Inspiration FM will be a community led and managed radio service, providing access, information, entertainment and training.
The new stations are expected to start broadcasting within the next two years.
