Amber RSL goes full time

A long-time community radio group, which started life over 15 years ago, is finally celebrating with the upcoming launch of Amber Sound FM in Derbyshire on October 4th.

The station is now testing on 107.2FM in the Amber Valley, and is run by around 20 volunteers who need to raise £100,000 a year to keep the service on-air.
The station aims to begin a training programme next year with the aim of teaching people both young and old the skills and enjoyment that can be had working in the media. Programming will have a large focus on local events and issues as well as playing specialist music such as Northern Soul and Rock and Blues.
