Nations and Regions deadline

Radio stations with a TSA or editorial coverage area of under 300,000 are invited to submit their entries for the Nations and Regions Award, which could lead to winning the Sony Radio Academy Awards Station of the Year.

The closing date for entries this year is October 17th 2008. Last year the winning entry was from TLRC's Silk FM in Macclesfield. Community, BBC, Commercial and BFBS stations are all welcomed to enter.
The aim of the awards is to celebrate programming that caters for the needs of a local UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man audience. The judging and awards presentations are organised by The Radio Academy’s Branches throughout the UK.
Each Branch will award one Nations and Regions Award to the station that the judges feel demonstrated the most consistently outstanding output. The judging process will be completed by November 7th and the winners will be awarded at each branch’s award presentation evening shortly afterwards.
To eligible for entry stations must have been broadcasting on FM, AM or DAB between July 1st 2007 and June 30th 2008, and will have been broadcasting continuously for at least six months prior to the entry deadline of 17th October 2008.
