Imagine FM sold to local firm

UTV Radio has sold Imagine FM to a local Stockport-based company Mondiale Publishing Ltd, RadioToday.co.uk can confirm. The station now broadcasts local programmes 24 hours a day, but still displays UTV style branding on its new website.

UTV Radio decided to sell the station in June last year when a request to move the station to a new broadcasting centre in Warrington was turned down by regulators Ofcom.
UTV management said the station would be either shut down or sold by June 30th 2008. No further news was released until presenters at the station [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.3547.2]pretended[/link] to close-down the station at 12 midday on June 30th.
Since then [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?11913]rumours[/link] have been circulating about possible buyers for the station.
