West Berkshire ’s Kick FM has launched the Kick FM Radio Academy, an opportunity for local people to learn more about a career in the media.
Members of the Academy will spend time at the station learning all aspects of how a commercial radio station works, including news, sales, presentation, production and marketing.
Kick FM Station Manager Andy Green said, “I know from personal experience how difficult it can be to get a career in the media. Anyone with personal real life experience on their CV stands head and shoulders above other candidates.
Breakfast presenter and Programme Manager Ben Stone added, “I wish something like this had been around when I was trying to get into radio. I'm really excited about working on the project and can't wait to meet young people from across West Berkshire who I'm sure will be signing up for this in their droves. I'm determined that through the Academy we will find some really talented people who will no doubt be a big asset to the radio station”.
