TV slot for Toolan's quiz

A quiz format originally devised by Key 103’s Mike Toolan is to be transformed into a TV show by Sky1.

Sell Me the Answer started as a quiz on Key 103’s Toolan in the Morning breakfast show, after host Mike Toolan came up with the concept.
In 2008, the quiz won Gold at the Sony Awards, where it was described as “a genuinely new and innovative format that provided sustained involvement for the audience and continuing opportunity for wider participation”.
Sky1 has ordered 50 episodes of the hour long TV version of Sell Me the Answer, which will be fronted by former Blue Peter Presenter Gethin Jones and is due to air this summer.
Contestants will be asked up to 10 questions, each worth an increasing amount of money up to £25,000. If they do not know the answers they will be able to ask for help from 60 'traders' who will try to convince them to negotiate a price for what might or might not be the correct answer.
Mike Toolan said: “Sell Me the Answer always worked brilliantly on air for us and I’m sure it will be just as entertaining when adapted for the screen. I’m delighted to see my original idea grow in this way.”
