Any community radio station currently broadcasting can, from today, apply for extra government funding for 2009/10.
The closing date for the first round for funding from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport is the 12th of May. The Community Radio Fund Panel will then meet to consider applications on the 24th of June 2009.
Grants can only be made to community radio licensees who are broadcasting under a full community radio licence, and not, for example, an RSL. Eligible licensees must be broadcasting by the time the Panel meets to consider applications for the round applied for.
The application form and more details are on the Ofcom website [link=http://www2.ofcom.org.uk/radio/ifi/rbl/commun_radio/Communityfund/]here[/link].
