Rose grows to BBC Wiltshire

Rose Aston, currently Assistant Editor, BBC Shropshire, has been appointed as Managing Editor at BBC Wiltshire.

Rose began her career in radio as a freelance and has spent her whole career in BBC local radio, apart from short stints in BBC children's television as a reporter and more recently as a trainer for the BBC World Service Trust in Nepal.
She says of her new role: "I'm passionate about BBC local radio and the sense of community it can create. What better way is there to spend your working life than being a friend to the people you live amongst, being a trusted guide to the news and local events, and cheering people up?
"BBC Wiltshire has a great track record in doing all of this and with growing numbers of people listening, I'm looking forward to leading the BBC Wiltshire team into even greater success in its 21st year."
