The UTV group, who include talkSPORT in their radio portfolio, have recorded losses in the first quarter of this year. Revenue decline in their radio division by 15 per cent compared to this time last year.
However, this was compared to a market where the decline was roughly 18 per cent across the board. UTV anticipates that improved market conditions in the next few months should see the decline stemmed at around 9 per cent.
Their Radio Ireland division, which includes Galway Bay FM and Beat FM, was down 17 per cent on this time twelve months ago, a trend that’s expected to continue into the summer.
