Kerrang pays listeners to help

Bauer's Kerrang! Radio has formed an agreement with Slicethepie, to allow new artists to upload their music to the radio station website.

Listeners will then get paid to review and rate the tracks, with the best ones potentially getting airplay on specialist shows.

Alex Baker, presenter of Kerrang’s unsigned show, commented “We’re really excited to be working with Slicethepie, it’s a great tie up for us, Kerrang is all about the music that our listeners want to hear. Not only that, but we’ve been supporting unsigned music since we launched and this is an exciting expansion to one of our most credible shows. I’ve been in music all my life, and I am excited to be a part of what Kerrang Radio and Slicethepie are offering for unsigned artists.”

Loz Guest, Head of Specialist Music and Evening Show Presenter commented: “Not only will this benefit artists, but it’ll make the selection process more democratic, we’re sent literally hundreds of demos each week that all deserve thorough evaluation, and it’s cool that our listeners can now be a part of this!”

A number of widgets will be available later in the year, so that Kerrang listeners can chat about their activities on Slicethepie and Kerrang Radio across the major social networks.
