GMG Radio has announced that Martyn Healy will join them as Managing Director of their Northeast operations.
Martyn will oversee the day-to-day running with a key focus on programming and commercial opportunities for Real Radio, Smooth Radio and Rock Radio.
Martyn has 25 years experience in the industry and is a well-known figure in the Northeast. His career flourished at Metro Radio and continued to grow at Emap Radio as creative director. More recently, Martyn was Managing Director of Galaxy in the North East, going on to become their national Brand Managing Director.
Since 2008 Martyn has been a freelance consultant & trainer working with clients such as the UK's largest radio advertising agency Reidsville.
Martyn said of his appointment; "The North East is a vibrant radio market and I know it very well which is why I am so excited at the prospect of taking up the role at GMG Radio. It's a great team of people, with fantastic brands and I intend to grow all three stations in their markets."
