Colin Murray has landed a new job as presenter of Match of the Day 2 and the World Cup highlights programme in South Africa.
He will however continue his Fighting Talk show on BBC Radio 5 Live, and hosting Channel 5's coverage of Europa League cup matches.
Murray said today: "I'd like to thank Five for allowing me to take this opportunity. I'm very proud to have been the channel's face of football and can't wait to host Five's live coverage of the Europa League Final, hopefully featuring both Liverpool and Fulham, on 12 May."
He continues: "Going to the World Cup is mind-blowing for me as a football fan. It's an absolute honour to become part of what Match Of The Day stands for. I will do my best to bring everything I have to the table and the hallowed sofa. I can't imagine how nervous I will be sitting there and hearing that theme tune. I like a laugh but I am serious also about football and the impartiality required to respect all football fans."
