PM backs save 6Music campaign

Gordon Brown has told the Radio Times that he sees value in closure-threatened 6Music.

The PM tells of how he prefers the DJ's on the station ahead of those on Radio 1 and Radio 2, such as Jarvis Cocker and Lauren Laverne.

However, the sceptical amongst us may wonder if this is a clever move to gain a few extra votes from the people passionate about keeping the station going. The PM also used the interview to warn that the BBC will only get worse under the Conservatives, with Brown saying the Tories want to "hive off Radio 1".

He continued to say: "A lot of things that the BBC does are incredibly creative and quite risky. But this is a necessary means of us being a creative society."
