Madeley hopes to join Radio 2

Richard Madeley hopes to have a Radio 2 show amongst his new projects.

The presenter, who is hotly tipped as a replacement for Adrian Chiles on The One Show, has been talking to the Radio Times about his future – where he also praised Chris Evans.

Madely told the magazine: “Later this year my ancestors will be traced in Who Do You Think You Are? … and I'll hopefully have a show on Radio 2, but I'm in no rush.''

In the article, Richard also commented on BBC Radio 2 breakfast host Chris Evans: “Even when he was going through his wild period, I thought he was a great broadcaster…. It would have been a huge mistake to replace Terry Wogan with another mellifluous older man.''

Richard has been taking time off with his wife (and renowned flasher) Judy Finnigan since finishing their TV show on digital channel Watch last year.
