Tony Blackburn rocks Radio 2

Tony Blackburn has announced She Loves You by The Beatles as the No. 1 best-selling record of the Sixties on BBC Radio 2.

The reveal was part of a special one-off four-hour programme Tony presented for the network on Bank Holiday Monday.

Tony Blackburn hosted the show live and comments:: "This countdown brings back many fantastic memories and offers listeners four hours of great tracks from the decade whose music influenced the world like no other. It comes as no surprise to see the Fab Four at No. 1, but other aspects of the chart are perhaps a little unexpected.

Jeff Smith, Head of Music, Radio 2 and 6 Music, says: "This chart is a nostalgic reflection of the enduring appeal of the music of the Sixties and the artists that defined the decade and continue to influence today."
