Cowell backs Eagle fundraising

X Factor supremo Simon Cowell's helped out a weekend of charity fundraising at Guildford's Eagle Radio.

Cowell called in to lend his support for the station's work to promote a local hospice, as part of his role as Patron of the UK Children's Hospice charity.

Simon also donated 'meet and greet' tickets for one of the live ITV X Factor show, to be used as an auction item.

The weekend of programming on Eagle was to raise money for Christopher's CHASE Hospice in Guildford and featured an outside broadcast from the hospice as well as an on-air auction.

Other celebrities who leant their support for the weekend included PR guru Max Clifford, Dragon Theo Paphitis and former GMTV presenter Andrew Castle.

Eagle Radio’s Programme Director, Peter Gordon, told RadioToday.co.uk:"We are so thrilled that Simon took time out to get involved with our CHASE weekend. He helped us raise thousands of pounds for a vital cause which does wonderful things for life limited children and their families every day of the year."

The current total rasied stands at more than £11,000.
