Bauer's Big City Network is trying out live video streaming of their evening show tonight for a special programme featuring new pop talent Labrinth.
It's the first time the IN:DEMAND show has broadcast live video as well as audio, with the programme coming live from Labrinth's recording studio in North London.
Labrinth is Simon Cowell's first signing in recent years to the Syco label that hasn't come from a TV talent show.
Joining Labrinth in his studio will be Pixie Lott and Miss Dynamite.
The show, hosted by Alex and Lucy, will be broadcast across 10 of the Big City English local radio stations, including Key 103, Radio City, Metro FM, Rock FM, Radio Aire and The Hits, as well as being streamed live on www.ustream.tv giving listeners the chance to watch the broadcast live as it happens.
Ric Blaxill, Head of Music for the Big City Network, told RadioToday.co.uk: "This is the first time we've tried something like this and as we are always looking for new ways to deliver programming to our listeners this is an exciting project. It is a truly interactive way of listening to the radio and offers our listeners something extra."
IN:DEMAND presenter Alex James added: “It’s an extra coup to have secured the broadcast with Labrinth live from his North London Recording Studio. Labrinth has worked with a number of big pop arts such as Pixie Lott, JLS and Tinnie Tempah. In fact, we’ll be joined by guests Pixie and Miss Dynamite and will be offering our listeners the chance to win some real money can’t buy prizes so it’s definitely one to listen to – and to watch!”
The broadcast on air and on Ustream starts at 7pm tonight (Thursday 23 September 2010).
