Rock Radio teams up with rugby

Manchester station 106.1 Rock Radio is becoming the official radio partner for rugby league side Salford City Reds for the upcoming season.

The agreement sees the station get their branding on players' shorts and pitch-side advertising boards in the final season for the club at their current stadium.

GMG-owned Rock Radio will become an integral part of the match night experience, whilst the Reds will feature in regular sports updates on air and on-line alongside exclusive ticket giveaways and match previews.

Reds’ Commercial Manager, Andrew Bentham said:"Rock anthems have become synonymous with sport and 106.1 Rock Radio’s presence at home games throughout next season will only enhance what will be an electric time as we say our goodbyes to The Willows in style."

Moose, 106.1 Rock Radio mid-morning presenter and programme controller, added; "This is a great tie up between two very strong regional brands who can fully communicate and connect with each other’s audiences. We are looking forward to all aspects of the relationship especially rocking The Willows to its very foundations with the greatest classic rock music known to man!"
