Mark Damazer awarded CBE

Former BBC Radio 4 controller Mark Damazer has been awarded CBE in the New Year honours list.

Mark left the national station earlier this year to join St Peter's College at Oxford University, having first joining the BBC in 1981 as a current affairs producer for the World Service.

He was appointed Controller of Radio 4 and BBC (Radio) 7 in October 2004, taking over from Helen Boaden, and [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.5810.2]left[/link] in April 2010. He can be seen above picking up a Sony Award for Station of the Year in 2008, won by Radio 4.

Ellis Rich, Chairman of the Performing Right Society, was awarded an OBE for services to the music publishing industry, and Radio and Television Producer John Hardress Wilfred Lloyd was awarded an OBE for services to Broadcasting.
