FRL pleased with good start

After two months on the air, French Radio London say early indications show they have around 10,000 listeners in the capital.

The team celebrated their first couple of months of broadcasting with a trip to the recent France Show at Earls Court with a London debut for French chanteuse Loren Lopez.

Pascal Grierson, FRL's CEO, whose brainchild the new station is, says "I'm excited that we have already engaged with our target audience way beyond our initial expectations. We are aiming to achieve 50,000 listeners a week by the end of the first year. Our audience comprises those who tune in on DAB within the M25 area and those who listen online from anywhere in the country, and around the world."

He added: "In-depth audience measurement figures will be available later in the quarter, but preliminary statistics indicate a huge number of listeners and over 40,000 unique visitors to the site. It is especially pleasing that just a couple of months after we first went on air an estimated 10,000 listeners are tuning into FRL regularly and they are now spending more time listening to the radio."

Commercial clients already signed up include Eurostar, airline CityJet, hotel and restaurant collection Relais & Châteaux, luxury holiday resorts ClubMed, accountants, Mazars, creative force Cirque du Soleil; champagnes firm French Bubbles, and French movie channel, Cinémoi.

Pascal told us: "The huge enthusiasm for FRL and the warm reception this unique, new station has witnessed from the listeners has been especially gratifying. We are more determined than ever to consolidate our position as THE French Voice for London."
