Absolute posts Facebook ad

A new Facebook campaign has been launched by Absolute Radio to support its above the line Faces for Radio campaign.

It means the national AM station is one of the early beta testers and the first radio brand to trial Facebook’s new Sponsored Stories campaigns.

When a Facebook user ‘likes’ the Absolute Radio page a story is generated on the users News Feed for his network to see – due to the targeting nature of Facebook not all of his friends will see this post, however as a Sponsored Story the Absolute Radio ‘like’ will be included in a box to the right hand side of the Facebook platform which all of the users friends will be able to see – amplifying the message to a wider audience.

The recommendation from a friend will encourage others to follow suit and also ‘like’ Absolute Radio.

Users are asked to post their "morning faces" to the application which posts to the users wall, and the picture with the most votes at the end of the campaign at the end of March will win £5000 with runners up prizes of £1000 and £500.

Absolute Radio currently has 39,840 likes – we'll check back at the end of the month to see how many more likes the campaign has generated.
