Jazz FM weekend breakfast presenter Chris Phillips is to take over the station’s weekday breakfast show from next week.
He takes over from Nigel Williams who moves to mid-mornings, while Anthony Davis steps down from Jazz to concentrate on his daily late show on LBC but will still be heard by listeners as he takes over as the male station voiceover.
As part of the schedule shuffle the weekday mid-morning show will go live instead of pre-recorded and will be presented by Nigel Williams. Chris stays on Saturday breakfast with Nigel taking over Sunday breakfast.
Programme Controller Mike Vitti told RadioToday.co.uk: “Anthony Davis has been an amazing servant to Jazz FM. His dedication to the station is unquestionable and through his talent, his contribution is undeniable. Jazz FM would be a much poorer place without him so I’m happy to say he’ll be taking over duties as the male station voice.”
He added: “Chris has achieved great things with the FT Weekend Breakfast, growing the audience considerably. His vast musical knowledge will help us focus the breakfast time output and allow us to do what we do best – play the best Jazz, Soul and Blues to a very loyal audience.”
