Independent radio production company Pixiu has been commissioned to bring some of the UK’s top comedy podcasts to long-haul British Airways flights.
Sony Radio Academy Award winning podcast Answer Me This and the podcast of Radio 2 and Radio 4 comedian Mitch Benn are among those that will feature on the in-flight entertainment system on flights from the UK from today.
Pixiu was set up by former Somethin’ Else Senior Producer Alex Feldman and currently produces all of Channel 4’s podcasts and currently have a documentary for BBC Radio 2 in production.
Included in BA’s ‘Pick of the Comedy Podcasts’ are special editions of Answer Me This, Comedy Central’s ‘Utter Shambles’ presented by Robin Ince and Josie Long, Mitch Benn’s Music Podcast, Chortle’s ‘Peacock and Gamble Podcast’ and ‘The Absolute Peach’.
New editions will become available at the start of each month and new podcasts will be added over time in order to represent the best in British online comedy on board British Airways. Pixiu were commissioned by agency Spafax to bring the content to the skies.
