Smooth Radio sponsors TV Times Awards

GMG’s Smooth Radio is to be the sponsor of the TV Times Awards as it announces a tie-up with magazine publisher IPC.

The deal will see promotion for Smooth in titles including What’s On TV and TV & Satellite Week as well as TV Times, while the magazines will also be advertised on both Smooth and Real Radio.

As part of the six month multi-platform programme of activity, Smooth Radio will sponsor the TV Times Awards, voting for which takes place throughout the autumn. The awards, which celebrate the best of British TV, are also promoted in sister IPC titles, totalling over 20 different magazine and online outlets.

GMG Radio Group Commercial Director Jonathan Gillespie said: “This is the first time we have embarked on this kind of partnership, which will enable us to expose readers of some of Britain’s favourite magazines to the key content that is available on Smooth Radio at a time when they are planning what to watch and listen-to. We are delighted to be sponsor of the TV Times Awards, an association which will provide Smooth with great brand exposure.”

Niall Clarkson, Publishing Director, TV Times added: “We are delighted that Smooth Radio will be sponsoring the TV Times Awards. We feel the Smooth Radio listeners are a great fit for our brand and working together will make the TV Times Awards even bigger this year. TV Times magazine has a strong heritage of providing exclusive content on much loved TV shows for its loyal readership for over 50 years. The TV Times Awards has grown out of this strong heritage and is well respected as a fabulous celebration of the best of British TV as voted for by the experts, the people who watch it!

“As the Awards draw closer we are really looking forward to the various exciting promotional activities we have planned with Smooth Radio, and hope this will be a direct benefit to our shared listeners and readers.”
