Crush Radio creates visual radio show

A student radio station is to host “an entirely visual two hour radio show” at the University of Hertfordshire.

Crush Radio says it’s a ground breaking attempt by two third year media students will contain a host of visual features from around the campus.

The special Josh and Kenny show will air this Sunday 12th February between 10pm and midnight.

Josh normally presents the breakfast show on Crush Radio, and is a blogger for the University of Hertfordshire’s Students Union’s ‘SoapBox’. Josh was also a finalist for the T4 Online Presenter Search last summer. Aside from presenting he is currently working with BBC Radio 1xtra on a feature production.

Kenny England is a budding radio producer who currently volunteers at BBC Three Counties for the BBC Introducing show. Since joining the station he has encouraged the use of visualisation by videoing a weekly feature and putting it onto YouTube.

Thom Palser, Vice President Communications and Media said “Josh and Kenny wanted to make the most of their final year on student radio by trying out new ideas that hadn’t previously been attempted. This is a really exciting time for Josh & Kenny as they try new things and experiment with new media. After hosting the Student Radio Conference at Hertfordshire last year, our students have been inspired to look at new ways to engage our listeners and I’m really excited to see if this visual radio show manages to do just that”.
