He’ll be hosting a charity quiz night for Radio Forest in Epping, where he started his broadcasting career.

    Oh well done, Radio Today.

Using this headline to make a joke about someone losing their job probably made you all chuckle away, ooh, look-how-clever-we-are-with-our-double-meaning.

Hope you’re proud of yourselves and nothing similar happens to you.

Show some consideration and respect in future. Please.

Gino, the headline is not a joke, not does it refer in anyway to the other news of the day about Real Radio cutbacks. It’s an accurate headline for a factual story.

This story was sent to us and written last week, and scheduled to appear today – before we knew about the Real Radio announcements.

Bad timing maybe, but it certainly wasn’t meant to appear as you have translated it.

I think it’s a really nice thing for daryl to do and it’s good to see a big name in radio who’s seem it and done it give something back to the place that helped kickstart his illustrious career. More presenters or journalists should do the same as in my mind as many of them forget who and what helped them get the initial on air experience/practice that allowed them to knock on the door at commercial and bbc stations. If i was daryl I would do the same!

Daryl has always continued to support us and has maintained his membership throughout. We have a couple of tables left, so if anyone is near Essex and wants to come along, then send me a PM.
