Vibe 107.6 jock does 13 hour snow show

Watford’s community radio station Vibe 107.6 kept its Breakfast Show on air non-stop for 13 hours on Friday.

Presenters Stephen Allden and Tom Harland stayed on-air to provide extra information on the local weather situation and subsiquent travel news and school closures.

Founder Matt Cadman told Radio Today: “Stephen and Tom did a fantastic job at making Vibe 107.6 a credible source for information on Friday. Community radio has great potential and whilst the commercial sector continues to take national networked programmes, this provides community radio an even greater opportunity to provide great local radio and in Vibe’s case with a trendy rhythm and dance music format”.

Tina Barnard, Chairman of Vibe 107.6 added “In a period when local radio becomes more relevant than ever, I’m proud of the team at Vibe being able to deliver much needed local information”.

Vibe 107.6 operates using a community licence from regulator Ofcom and launched in August 2011.
