Pulse 98.4 awarded BT People Awards grant

A community radio station in Barrhead has been awarded awarded £500 by the BT People Awards scheme to help with running costs.

pulse984The award was applied for on behalf of Pulse 98.4 by former Clyde 1 DJ John Laurie, who now works as emergency operator at BT’s 999 centre in Glasgow.

John, who started volunteering with Pulse in 2009, said: “Having worked professionally in radio prior to joining BT, I can say with my hand on my heart that Pulse is my favourite station to have been involved with. I am over the moon that BT have decided to acknowledge and support the work that we all do there”.

Pulse Chairman Raymond Weir said: “This is great news for the station and we are delighted that BT are giving us this support. It says a lot about the team spirit at Pulse that an old pro like John Laurie just mucks in with the rest of the volunteer team to make sure that we continue to provide a service to the local community.”
